I painted this scene of one of my favorite memories of the outfit I worked for in Montana (the Quarter Circle J-6). Every evening when the moon was coming up, we rounded up the saddle horses that grazed on the bench above the cow camp and brought them down to the round corral. There we sorted out our mounts for the next day, and kept them in the corral, while we turned the rest of them lose to go back up on the bench.
