From my earliest memories, I recall as I prepared to drift off to sleep, my mother would sit by my bedside and share with me the timeless tales from the life of Jesus. This piece serves as a tribute to all the mothers, grandmothers, and wives who have shared similar moments with their children.
These stories hold a significant place in shaping our understanding of the Savior's teachings. It is during these storytelling sessions that mothers find a way to transport their children to a different realm, one where they can feel as if they are in the very presence of the Savior. This is the experience that I was trying to capture with this piece titled “Mothers In Zion”.
As President Ezra Taft Benson once said in October 1981 General Conference, "You were elected by God to be wives and mothers in Zion... Since the beginning, her role has been to teach her children eternal gospel principles. She is to provide for her children a haven of security and love—regardless of how modest her circumstances might be."
