I have painted "The Garden Tomb" as a memory of visiting Jerusalem. This is a place of great reverence and humility that one feels when standing in the presence of this historic site. The tomb itself, with its weathered stone walls and simple entrance, serves as a powerful symbol of the triumph over death and the justice of God. Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, was buried here with only a small group of followers present at his funeral. He was laid to rest in a simple tomb that belonged to another man. However, despite his humble burial, the impact of his life and teachings have reverberated throughout history. As the Bible states, "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth" (Philippians 2:10). He is the King of Kings, and His message of love, forgiveness, and salvation continues to inspire and transform lives to this day.
