The inception of the Place of Peace Collection spans several years. Initially exploring black and white and film-emulated imagery, I temporarily shelved the project to focus on other endeavors. However, following the unexpected loss of my father, I felt compelled to resurrect this collection as a means of coping with my grief.
My father and I shared the experience of visiting over 70 temples across the United States, influencing the essence of this portfolio significantly. During the creation process, I found myself deviating from my usual colorful style, opting for images devoid of color. This absence of vibrancy mirrored the void left by my father's absence during the period these artworks took shape.
Crafting these images became a therapeutic endeavor, providing the peace of mind I sought amidst the grieving process. To date, the Place of Peace Collection stands as one of my most distinctive and evolving series, centered around LDS Temples. As you engage with these images, I invite you to discover a sense of tranquility in your own life, much like the solace they have brought me during challenging times.
Thank you for everything Dad. Love you forever.
