There is a Zen-like quality to all of Chris Young’s still life work, something that he ascribes to time as a young man he spent in Japan. For Faith, Hope, and Charity Chris began with the idea that all the flowers he chose would be white for purity. The daisy, whose name is ancient Greek for "star," is commonly shown in connection with Faith. The lily, long associated with Christ, was chosen for the Hope He gives us. The white rose represents Charitable love.
