Manzi’s Journey of Faith Through Christian Art

As a young artist living in a refugee camp in Kenya, Manzi has very little by the world’s standards - but his faith runs deep. In the late hours of the night, with limited tools and limited comfort, he creates sacred images that reflect his devotion to the Savior. His Christian art is more than beautiful - it’s an offering of gratitude and testimony, forged in some of life’s hardest circumstances.
An Artist with a Purpose
Manzi didn’t always live in hardship. His family once lived a peaceful life, but when violence forced them to flee, they found shelter in the Kakuma Refugee Camp - one of the most difficult in the world.
In the midst of that, Manzi turned to what he had: faith, family, and art. With a donated computer and time carved out after daily chores, he taught himself to create digital Christian art - portraits of the Savior, scenes of comfort, and reminders of God’s love.
His work speaks to the global truth of the gospel: that the Savior knows each of us, walks with us, and brings peace - even in the wilderness.
A Reflection of Gospel Values
Latter-day Saints are no strangers to sacrifice. Our covenants, our callings, and our family responsibilities often stretch us - but we endure, with help from the Lord. Manzi’s story mirrors this principle. Though he faces daily challenges, he continues to press forward with faith, lifting his family and sharing the light of Christ through his creations.
