Apart To Pray

This portrait is inspired by Matt 14:23

“And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.”

How often do we seek to go “apart to pray”? How often do we seek a place separated from the world and its commotion? I felt this portrait conveyed to me a sense of wanting to just talk to my Father in Heaven alone, away from distractions, away from troubles and fears. The two of us, a Father who has more love for me than I can imagine, waits to listen and to calm and reassure His love for me as I speak out to Him.

Scott Sumner is a professional photographer whose work depicting the Savior, Jesus Christ, has been published in many books, on book covers, and can be found in many homes and religious institutions across the world. His work has been exhibited in International Art Competitions sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at BYU Education Week, and Women’s Conference in Provo, Utah.

Scott has served on the board of directors for the Intermountain Professional Photographers Association, (IPPA), and the Inspirational Art Association, (IAA), of which he is a founding member and past president, and currently serves on their advisory board. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Sales from Weber State University Ogden, Utah

A shipping time requested as "2-Day Priority Mail" refers to the shipment time once the item has shipped and does not include any assembly window. We pride ourselves on our efficient and timely system, but the complexity of an order will impact delivery. Orders to Hawaii may take 3-4 weeks to arrive via USPS.
