When I made the decision to really start painting professionally my wife and I were living with my wife’s grandfather. He had been in a major car accident and we moved in with him to take care of him as he was unable to live on his own. It was a very sacred experience for our family. We ended up taking care of him and his home for the last four years of his life. His large backyard was home to many fruit trees, especially pear trees. At the time they were always available and ready to eat and great subjects to paint, so I painted a lot of them. Aside from the rich color, shape, and visual interest, I painted them and continue to paint them because they are a strong symbol of our time together during his last years of life.
Part of Tyler Pack's original art show "Simplicity Made Sacred (Uncovering Embedded Symbolism in Classical Still Life) ". Held February 2026 at Havenlight Gallery in University Mall, Utah.
Original artwork of Oil on Panel 10 x 8. Painted 2025.
