Dawn of Redemption

This painting portrays the miraculous moment of Christ’s victory over death and evil, the empty tomb standing as a symbol of His descension below all things and triumphant resurrection. Bathed in the soft glow of the rising sun, the scene reflects the divine light that breaks through the darkness of the world. The sun's rays illuminate the scene, representing Christ’s journey from the depths of suffering and sacrifice to the highest triumph over sin and death. This light symbolizes the grace and hope He offers to all humanity—shining brightly upon the path to redemption which He provides for us. He is the way. His light, unwavering and eternal, lovingly beckons us to follow in His footsteps, embrace grace, hope, and a new life in Him.

With a belief the spirit of her work carries messages directly to each viewer’s heart, in a language only art can speak, Katie carefully strives to paint by the Spirit of God. You may have seen her work at past IAA shows, the Zions Bank Art Show, and the Certain Women Show at Anthony’s Fine Art & Antiques. She was the recipient of the 2021 IAA People’s Choice award. As a mother of 7 children, Katie is constantly balancing her work as a mother with her calling as an artist. She describes painting as a spiritual experience that gives her frequent opportunities to be still, appreciate the beauty of this world, and reconnect with her Heavenly Parents. She hopes her art helps others do the same.
