"He is not here: for he is risen" was an angelic and miraculous message 2000 years ago, and it is an angelic and miraculous message today.
As Easter Sunday is tomorrow, I would like to share a story of hope. Last year, my wife and her family prayed for a miracle to save her cousin who was dying from cancer. As a young mother, this cousin battled with faith. All prayed for a miracle, but her body could not fight off the cancer and she passed away leaving a heart broken family.
With tears of intense sadness, my wife pleaded with God trying to understand why the miracle everyone had prayed for never happened. A still small voice whispered to her that the miracle had already happened 2,000 years ago. She felt strongly that she will see her cousin again because Christ had paid the price, broken the bands of death, and paved a path we could all follow to be with our loved ones again.
"He is not here: for he is risen" gives us hope that for every person we have loved and lost we might be with them again in a place far better than anything we can imagine. May you feel that hope this Easter season and always is my prayer. Happy Easter!
