Art Story

16 X 20 Oil on Canvas

“The talents of great men create the illusion that their success is the product of ability or fortune alone. The inspired performance of a master musician, or the mesmerizing delivery of an impassioned orator, appear so natural and effortless that it is easy to forget that private preparation precedes public performance. The reason that Providence places a man on the public stage at the critical time is because the man has prepared in private. The man and hour meet because the man has prepared for the hour."
Give Me Liberty: The Uncompromising Statesmanship of Patrick Henry by David J Vaughn

This paragraph really struck a chord, how beautifully it reminds one of the purpose of preparation. How Providence smiles down on those who put in the work. How "you become the man who you make." You are not the product of your birth, environment or circumstances forever. You're not finished. You keep going. You keep striving. And those circumstances of your life are tools & stepping stones. See them as a launching point not a hindrance. You get to make of yourself what you want to be.

One of the things I'm preparing for right now, besides trying to improve myself, as an artist is the study and the event of the second coming of Jesus Christ. I feel like there has been an increase in urgency to prepare for him coming, although people have been saying that for at least hundreds of years. I'm always drawn to it and feel like it is one of my soul purposes in life, I reread parts of my patriarchal blessing that talk about it and I try to strive to be ready in the ways that I am supposed to on my personal mission. Everybody has a divine mission, not everybody has the same call or will follow the same footsteps and it does not mean that they are wrong. I am just trying to make sure that I am on the path I am supposed to be on regardless of what anyone else says or does.
