As the Gospel of John states, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12). This verse echoes the sentiment conveyed in his painting, portraying Jesus as the source of divine light and hope. His upward gaze suggests that he is always connected to the heavenly realm, drawing strength and guidance from a higher power. His divine connection is our light, and reassurance. This image offers a powerful reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope to be found in Jesus Christ.

Layne Haacke, an artist residing in the heart of the Ozarks in Missouri, is a laid-back lefty who can't resist doodling with his pencil. He is a die-hard sports fan, father of three boys, amateur philosopher, and humble believer in Jesus Christ our Savior. Classically trained at Brigham Young University in illustration and visual arts, He has always veered toward creative expression. He was a founding Member of the A cappella singing group InsideOut that performed at venues across the country at the turn of the century, producing 6 Albums. His art is often an inspired vision of faith and art, blending the new with the old into inspiring views of holy things. Layne’s art, rich with religious themes and serene depictions of Jesus Christ, aims to share the peace and beauty he sees through his unique perspective.
