as divinity bent low—
not in glory,
as much as knowing.

she came to Him as every mother does,
not to erase the pain,
but to stay through it.
to be his support
that could support the world
its roots deep in sorrow,
its fruit ripening on tears.

this was not the end,
knowing this birth-like pain.
