This one is difficult to explain.... but I am incredibly grateful for mountains to climb. For the times spent on my knees in desperate prayer. For the seeking and the yearning and the hoping and the fighting forward. I am grateful for the heartaches and heart breaks. For the pain and the wounds...... because even though it isn’t easy, all of these experiences teach me trust in my Savior and in my Heavenly Parents. It teaches me how to push away the darkness and reach for the light. It teaches me strength and perseverance. It gives me hope, and a better understanding and a more solid ground to walk on. It gives me the opportunity to change, to be molded into something greater than what I was. “24“For behold, ye shall be as a whale in the mist of the sea; for the mountain waves shall dash upon you. Nevertheless, I will bring you up again out of the depths of the sea; for the winds have gone forth out of my mouth, and also the rains and the floods have I sent forth.” “25 And behold, I prepare you against these things; for ye cannot cross this great deep save I prepare you against the waves of the sea, and the winds which have gone forth, and the floods which shall come. Therefore what will ye that I should prepare for you that ye may have light when you are swallowed up in the depths of the sea?” (D&C 121 &122) A good friend read these scriptures to me years ago and it has stuck with me deeply. When I find myself in the depths of a heavy load, I go back to these scriptures and remind myself that even though it might be challenging now, God is right there to bring me up again. He is right there guiding my path and leading me to places that will ultimately be for my benefit... and with the effort I put in, I can have the Light I need to keep walking forward. This life will come with its mountain waves, and we can feel tossed about, but our Heavenly Father is right there with us cheering for us and giving us light every step of the way... all we need to do is ask for it. I love the last sentence “Therefore, what will ye that I should prepare for you that ye may have Light when ye are swallowed up in the depths of the sea?” Reproduced from the artist''s original artwork of Watercolor on Paper 12.25” x 12.25”. Kate Lee's art is a heartfelt showcase of her love for her family and her faith, brought to life
through her watercolors. From the time she was young, Kate had a knack for drawing, even
when it meant getting in trouble for not paying attention in class. Her art evolved over time,
moving from simple cartoons to the rich layers of watercolor painting, as she searched for a way
to more accurately express what she was feeling inside. Kate balances her life as an artist with
being a mom and wife, and she still finds time for her love of mountain biking.
