Continue ShoppingOne of my first memories was attending the Washington DC Temple open house in the fall of 1974. I can recall the inspiring structure, detailed paintings, the quiet reverence, and the excitement my parents had for having a Temple so close. Not too long after the dedication, however, my family moved to Austin, Texas and for the next 8 years we were part of the Mesa Arizona Temple district 16 hours away. It was in Austin that I had my first job at the age of 12. I had an afternoon paper route and in the mornings on the weekend. This first job taught me hard work, consistency, dedication, and to be well aware of the weather. It was on those morning paper routes over that I fell in love with sunrises.
My father was a talented artist and designer and taught me throughout my youth how to capture what I see through different mediums. In 2009, my wife and I had the opportunity to open a restaurant in Huntsville, Utah which is in a beautiful mountain valley in Northern Utah. It was there that I fell in love with capturing the beauty of sunrise through the medium of photography. A few years later as I was headed home from Jackson Hole, Wyoming a fall storm was clearing as I was passing through Ogden, I decided to capture the Ogden Temple as the storm cleared at Sunset. I was hooked and it has been a true blessing to have traveled across the country over the last several years visiting the amazing and beautiful Temples and hopefully capture them in the few brief minutes of magic that can happen as the light of the sun hits everything just right.
