In the nascent stages of my artistic journey, I crafted a painting that now symbolizes a pivotal moment of self-reflection and spiritual awakening. The piece, initially an exercise in mastering the nuances of the human form, depicted a nude model. While artistically accomplished, it unwittingly echoed themes of vulnerability and objectification. The model, with her body boldly displayed yet her face averted, seemed to embody a sense of shame – a sentiment that, at the time, resonated deeply with my own unspoken regrets and insecurities.

For years, this painting remained hidden in the shadows of my closet, a haunting reminder of a period clouded by inner turmoil. It was a piece that both unsettled and repulsed many viewers, but its raw honesty stroke a chord for me, and for a time, in its starkness, I found a strange solace, but It didnt last long.

A profound transformation began when I embraced Christianity. My newfound faith not only reshaped my world view but also cast a redemptive light on my art. Compelled to revisit the painting, I saw in it an opportunity for renewal – both for myself and this painting.

With careful rendering and a heart full of reverence, I reimagined the model as an ethereal being. Her form, once a mere depiction of physical beauty, now radiated with a celestial grace. Transforming her into an Angel of Redemption was more than an artistic choice; it was a homage to the dignity of the human spirit and a testament to the transformative power of faith.

This reworked masterpiece, now a beacon of hope and redemption, stands as a vivid testament to my personal and artistic evolution. Its not just a painting; its a journey from shadow to light, from shame to grace.

She radiates with celestial grace and glory. Based in Saratoga Springs, Utah, Jordan is an atheist turned Christian oil painter, whose artistic voice found form and substance within an unexpected spiritual journey. 

Previously working known by the pseudonym J. Art Fox, Jordan initially painted figurative art and wildlife. While these oil paintings on collages were aesthetically pleasing, they lacked narrative direction and conviction, and ultimately left Jordan with an imperative sense of creating art that could convey more emotional depth and meaning.

Then, in 2022, the trajectory of Jordan's life and art took an extraordinary turn. A sequence of life-altering experiences challenged his Darwinian, materialist worldview, and ignited a spiritual transformation, leading to a conviction in the truth of Christ. As his faith deepened, it began to infuse his art, guiding his brush strokes towards a harmonious blend of the personal spiritual journey and biblical narratives.

Today, Jordan’s mission is driven by an unwavering clarity: to inspire faith in Christ through art that masterfully blends Christian teaching with the oil painting tradition. He aspires to create work that resonates deeply, sparking spiritual curiosity, and inviting others onto their own transformative journey towards Christ.
