Art Story

When the people brought their little children to the Savior His disciples rebuked them, but Jesus replied, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:13-14).

The Savior must have loved being surrounded by those perfect little souls who loved Him so dearly. I can imagine Him smiling as He watched them play and laughing as they told Him stories, the kind of simple and innocent stories all little children tell. I know they felt His love and longed to stay by His side.

This picture reminds me that no matter how old we get, we are still little children of a loving Father in Heaven.

"Friends" by Liz Lemon Swindle is a heartwarming painting depicting Jesus Christ seated on a stone bench, accompanied by a delightful little girl.

I want to be this little girl

This pictured gripped me! The innocence of this child led me to imagine the greatest childlike conversation in which Jesus is totally engaged.
I shared it with my husband who is a psychotherapist, who then shared it with some clients and everyone said it meant a lot to them as well, and had it shared personally and in processing groups. It is a true blessing to many of us. Thank you and may God continue to bless the author.
