Minerva’s grandmother, Minerva Hickman, ran a waystation on the old Mackay and Custer stagecoach routes in Ross Fork. This would become the present-day town of Fort Hall. Right around the turn of century, the old stagecoaches were sold off in a sale on the streets of American Falls. “They were fantastic – picturesque. The child that I was I wanted to buy one. I knew, because I had been told, and heard so many say so, that they would soon become extinct in the West. I have never seen one in use since,” wrote Minerva.
